'Beads of Hope' Does it Again! On Sunday June 14th, the Seattle based team of young kids and their parents striving to help other kids at Mzuri-Kaja organized an evening home party and invited their friends and neighbors in Seattle. The team, led by Banjamin and Nicholas with guidance and support from their mom Amie and Renee held a very lively and successful fund-raising party for the construction of Kusini School in Mzuri-Kaja. More than $1,500 from sales of 'crafts for a better world' were sold and personal and family donations were given. Friends and neighbours listened to and watched a photo presentation about Zanzibar and Mzuri-Kaja by Dr. Mohammed Makame who travelled all the way from Tanzania for this special ocassion. The guests also enjoyed drinks, fruits, cookies, cakes, nuts and other goodies while the kids had an opportunity to learn more about another country and the lives of its kids. It was a memorable evening that MKDS highly appreciates. All guests received a 'token' mini-package of Zanzibar cloves as memorabilia for the function. Those few who could not come to the party sent their donations too.
